Leveson: should we stop buying UK newspapers?

December 4, 2011

What if we all stopped buying our newspapers on the same day, early next year? And maybe we pledge to abstain from buying one for a week, or maybe even a month. As individuals it may have little effect, but if we established a large group of like-minded people first, and coordinated our efforts on the same day, it could say much more. You know whether your newspaper is feeding demand for these shots. No demand means no money. We can make a statement and get Editors to rethink.

If you like the idea, tell your friends and followers. If not, tell me.

I fear that legislation to stop the paparazzi will be hard, and it might limit the scope of street photographers in general.
